Music

Since I stopped working on Patreon, I haven't been doing much for music. I occasionally find myself at the piano, just noodling aimlessly, but not much beyond that.

Recently, though, a friend I used to play with in the Lincoln Loggers reached out to see if I'd like to join an R&B band. We just met as a band recently. They're some good players! I'm excited to see how it goes.

That same friend also asked me to sub for a few gigs in another band he plays in (ska covers of Canadian pop tunes - very fun and silly).

I want to work on original material again, but nothing in the works right now.

I'm thinking of buying a guitar to work on rock chops for fun.

Summer

It's been busy! We went to Montreal to visit family and catch some of Jazz Fest. Mon cœur! I love that city. It's always hard to come back.

We also went to Calgary to see the Lion King Broadway production (wow!) before heading to Edmonton Folk Music Festival and visiting with more family and friends. I've never been to Edmonton's FF before because it's always at the same time as Regina Folk Fest (right in my back yard), but since RFF collapsed, I was finally able to go. Very cool! It's a big festival that sells out every year. I'm excited to go back next year!
